Islam and Modesty

Assalammualaikum :D Hmmmm...this blog seems quiet this semester; maybe  everyone is enjoying their holidays i guess. but it's okay, life must go on beb!! this is MQ new entry about Islam and modesty. to be specific, it is regarding the way that sisters in Islam should dress.

today, i accidentally trigger my mind about a Youtube video that i have watched a long time ago (perhaps last year). i made notes of the dialog but i could not find the video. anyway, enjoy!! :)

Dialog : between a father and daughter.

situation: father realized that her daughter is about to hang out with some friends. However, father seems not happy  with the way that her daughter dress up. Below are the conversations:

Father: Aisha, what are you thinking that you are going to achieve by going out dressed like that?
(Aisyah is wearing a revealing cloth and she does not wearing hijab)

Aisha:  girl just want to have fun, dad. This is what we call trend and fashion. We must be up to date, not old school, dad.

Father: Hmm..Aisya, when you are in the company of men, what do you think is going to happen? They like it right? What kind of way is that to portray your religion?

Aisha: But it’s cool. Everyone dresses like this now.

Father: Aisha, I want to tell you something.

Aisha: Yeah dad ~~~

Father: Everything Allah S.W.T made valuable in this world is covered up and hard to get. Now let me ask you something; Where do you find diamonds?
Deep down in the ground, covered and protected right? Now, where do you find pearls? Deep down at the bottom of the ocean covered up and protected in a beautiful shell right? Your body is sacred.  You are far more precious than diamonds and pearls. So, you should be covered too.

Aisha: That makes a lot of sense.  Thanks dad.

*This is supported with the commandments for all Muslims sisters that is illustrated in Surah an-Nur ayah 31 that says (the translation):

And say to the faithful women to lower their gazes, and to guard their private parts, and not to display their beauty except what is apparent of it, and to extend their headcoverings (khimars) to cover their bosoms (jaybs), and not to display their beauty except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband's fathers, or their sons, or their husband's sons, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their womenfolk, or what their right hands rule (slaves), or the followers from the men who do not feel sexual desire, or the small children to whom the nakedness of women is not apparent, and not to strike their feet (on the ground) so as to make known what they hide of their adornments. And turn in repentance to Allah together, O you the faithful, in order that you are successful

Furthermore, in Surah al-Ahzab ayah 59 that says (translation):
O Prophet! Say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the faithful to draw their outergarments (jilbabs) close around themselves; that is better that they will be recognized and not annoyed. And God is ever Forgiving, Gentle.

s0, guys let us ponder; are we covered enough??? if not, this is the time for u and me to change our style of dressing. let us not to follow the fashion neither from the west nor anywhere but to follow the guidance that is written in our scriptures (Quran and Hadith). this could be our new spirit and wish for the upcoming new year!!!

*sorry for any grammatical errors. peace yo!! :)*
